Body, Space, Time, Man, Society: these are just some of the themes intertwined in Romaeuropa Festival 2008.
Each performance stimulates a talk, an analysis of the word and a look over the present: Art and contemporary Creation are occasion for connection and comparison between communities.
For this reason, Festival meetings are not artists portraits, but spaces for discussion and thinking, that spur from the live performance. We invited critics, sociologists, anthropologists, semioticians, writers, poets, musicians to observe-read the performances and then to start a debate - open and direct - about themes, suggestions and textual web of each work.
Leading personalities, - so different from one another - accepted the invitation, fascinated by the idea of a conversation - in front of Romaeuropa Festival audience - with the artists. Writers,  such as Daniele Del Giudice, researchers (experts) such as Paolo Fabbri, composers such as Nicola Sani and Daniele Silvestri,  critics such as Fabio Ferzetti, Antonio Audino or Johnny Palomba. And then curators and art critics such as Luca Beatrice, philosophers such as Umberto Galimberti.
What these meetings will be like?
It is hard to tell: they are blind dates, with the risk of misunderstanding or clash of opinions too. But we like to think of them in terms of hypothesis,  unusual interpretations, unsuspected points of view, new critiques or reviews, open conversations linked to the present time, in which the power of the words enhanced by the vision of the performance may vibrate in a whirl of novelty.

Andrea Porcheddu, curator

*for organizational reasons meeting will be in Palladium Univserità Roma Tre
